Description: 3D printed ABS bracket to hold two interface boards, each two PCBs connected at a right angle, offset so that cable connections can be accessed
Challenges:
- Design where there is no tension in the image sensor cable
- 3D print to fit onto extruded aluminum test fixture with built-in adjustment
- Minimizing material while still constructing strong fixture
Solutions:
- Stacking and staggering PCBs to save space
- Slots modeled in base with countersink for washer to prevent imprinting of screw heads in ABS
- Standoffs modeled in and printed, tapped by hand
Results:
- Cleaner appearance on test fixture, no hot glue or random hardware
- Adjustable X and Z positions on test fixture frame
- Sensor cable has slack and oriented correctly
